I design my images in Adobe InDesign on an iMac computer. (In my past life, once upon a time... I was a graphic designer. If only I had gotten into it BEFORE the advent of web design; SIGH.)
I often design as a weekly spread, and later copy & paste them into a 6x4 layout that eventually gets exported as PDFs. I save those PDFs as JPG files in Photoshop CS3 and upload them to Walgreens.com for printing, often taking advantage of a 40% OFF coupon or some sort of sale.
I use Design A almost exclusively. However, I have purchased A LOT of other designs and HOPE to include some of those into my latest album.
I use almost NO journaling cards. I often document directly on my photos in InDesign and I like that A LOT. I have MY OWN HANDWRITING font on my computer and sometimes use that in my layouts, tweaking the kerning as needed.
I take A LOT of pictures! (Last year alone, I imported 8699 photos into iPhoto.)
I haven't committed to a specific set of fonts (yet). I prefer condensed fonts because I like them tall & skinny.
Some of my favorite fonts to use are:
IMPACT
Frutiger
Cheltenham
GillSans
American Typewriter
Growing up, my mom took most of the photos; therefore, SHE isn't in very many. I am making a point of using my self-timer so that I can be IN the photos from time-to-time, too. Also, my husband will sometimes grab the camera and take a picture of the boys and I interacting together. I also LOVE to use our timer to take a Family of 4 (4G) group shot. (We TRY to do this monthly.)
I've used a Canon Rebel T1i since December 2010 and WE LOVE IT!
In photography, I admire the everyday life approach of Ali Edwards.
I look forward to blogging our Project Life!
